Artist Statement
I am a conceptual North East artist currently studying my final year of Photography at the University of Salford. I'm drawn to photography as my chosen medium with its perspective of being a purely objective artform. Subverting this expectation through using archival imagery, own photography and physical processes to recontextualise the work, leaving the interpretation up to the viewer. My practice is shaped by an interest in historical visual culture and the ways in which images construct social order. Particularly focusing on how narratives from the past continue to influence contemporary culture.
